No LOST thread? Am I missing something? I thought it was pretty good. I'm a little dense though and at first I thought that creepy doctor she was seeing was her ob in Australia and I said to DH "What the hell kind of doctor is THAT?" and he said he thought they were in the other hatch. #bag# Looks like the dude in the safe may really be an other and he's gonna get to Locke... Hmmmmmm. Before this... I wasn't sure. But I did wonder why they don't just look for the balloon and the wife's grave, wouldn't that solve the mystery pretty fast? Looks like they're finally going to listen to me next week.

I couldn't figure out what Echo cut off and gave to the other guy. Was it part of his shirt?

I thought it was part of his beard... maybe to show how sharp his knife was? I didn't get it, either, but out TV has crappy reception ...

I missed most of the episode; caught about the last 25min or so.
I caught up on the Lost messageboard. Eko cutting part of his beard is supposed to represent a sign of atonement for having killed two men and his start of a new life. I was totally ?? too until I read that; it makes sense. Although he sure seemed to be giving the guy the evil eye....
This episode is definately on my must watch re-run it seems that I probably missed alot. phooey!

O yeah, and Locke letting what that guy said to him get to him was dumb. I thought Locke had more character than that.

Here's what I am thinking. When Eko cut off his beard and confessed he told the man he was telling him because he needed him to tell "him" he is a "good" person. I think he knows that he is an Other. In Claire's flashback when Zeke (minus the beard and rags) told Ethan that "HE" was going to be upset that the "list wasnt made and then Claire taken. Remeber the Tailies episode where it was determined that the Others took people whose names were on a "list" because they were the "good" people? I think it is all connected.

This is what the recap for that episode said: "And for the first time we get the point of view of an Other - they take out the strongest first - the "good people" - and then the children, who he claims are better off now". I do believe Eko was letting him know that he is good because he knows that he is an Other.

So do you think Eko wants to be an 'OTHER'?

Elaine, that's a tough question being that there are so many layers to being "good". I think he wants to be "good" in the sense that he is not the bad/evil man that he used to be. But not necessarily that he wants to be an OTHER so that he can be taken, kwim? My gut feeling is that he wanted to let him know that he is a good man now but to be careful and not try to take/abduct him; hence the evil eye he was giving the guy as he left. This is the evil vs good theme coming into play. Hope I made sense, lol.

OMG great episode! My favorite so far. Who else was totally freaked when Claire walked into that baby room? It gave me chills!

Did the bottles of vaccine say anything interesting? We couldn't read them (crappy reception) and wondered if we were missing anything...

The bottles of vaccine as was pointed out by DH had the same number printed on them that is so important everywhere else and makes the doomsday computer reset.... The Eko thing was just plain weirdness...it so looked like he was gonna cut his own throat right there. I told Dh that maybe he was removing his "forked beard" classically linked to devil or demonic imagery in a rejection of that evil part of him. ( profund thoughts huh LOL) I had sympathy for the dude in the room they were beating on until he tried to manipulate Locke. And does anyone else think Locke looks older and thinner with each episode? I thought it was interesting how Kate found the Locker of Rags and fake beard with the theatrical glue I thought that was important. I still think Claire is whiney and acts as if she's smoking Charlie's crack half the time. Oh ho! on the Preview for next week and Sun asking Sawyer for a PG'y test... and I can't help it but Sawyer still cracks me up... .... But I don't watch Lost and think it's a silly show.. I wasn't here... you didn't see me.. *furtive over the shoulder glances*

And does anyone else think Locke looks older and thinner with each episode? I don't know but I swear Hurley has gotten fatter. Maybe they are shifting weight between them somehow. Why was the beard and theatrical glue important?? Who do you think was using that?

Why was the beard and theatrical glue important?? Who do you think was using that? Did anyone else see what I think I saw in relation to this? The guy Ethan went to talk to when there was a knock on the nursery door was Zeke, minus the beard and grubby appearance.... he was the guy talking to Ethan about screwing up the list and how HE wasn't going to be happy... that was Zeke, I swear they have the same eyes, I'd almost bet my house on it.... then Kate found a box of theatrical makeup and glue, meaning Zeke puts that stuff on when he needs to, like when he is going out onto the water to steal Walt... or when he confronted Jack & Sawyer when they went after Michael.... I think the whole "others" being savages as they make them appear is all false to make them think that they too are also stranded here.... in reality, I think they are part of this big Dharma experiment, as in they are conducting the experiment....
